Light House 
The light house is also known in names like Vizhinjam lighthouse or Vilinjam light house as per in records. Snaps from inside the lighthouse taken during some leisure picnic trips.
The lighthouse is an active one and the huge tall structure is open
everyday by late afternoons. Painted in red and white bands the tower
stands tall in a height of 36m or 118 feet.

Halcyon Castle 
It was built in 1932 in the princely state of Travancore, in the modern day state of Kerala, India. It was constructed by M.R.Ry Sri Rama Varma Valiya Koil Thampuran, the consort of H.H. Maharani Sethu Lakshmi Bayi, as a retreat for their family.
In 1964 the entire property was sold to the Government of Kerala by the
Valiya Koil Thampuran, and has since been converted into a deluxe
hotel. .

Pazhasurama Temple 
Parashurama is the sixth avatar of Vishnu and belongs to the Second Age, and is the son of a Brahmin father Jamadagni and mother Renuka in Hindu mythology. He is considered one of the seven immortal (Chiranjivi) humans. He received an axe after undertaking a terrible penance to please Shiva, from whom he learned the methods of warfare and other skills. He fought back the advancing seas thus saving the lands of Konkan and Malabar.

Kovalam Mazjid 
The Masjid-i Jahān-Numā commonly known as the Palayam Pally of Trivandrum, is the principal mosque of Trivandrum in Kerala, India. It is a Juma Masjid (Friday Mosque). Moulavi Jamaludheen Mankada is its Imam.
The burial of the famous literary celebrity Kamala Suraiyya alias
Madhavikutty or Kamala Das was performed in the compound of Palayam Juma
Masjid.

Vellayani Lake 
Vellayani Lake is a fresh water lake, which is located in the
Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. Covering an area of 7.5 sq km,
this lake is the largest freshwater lake in Thiruvananthapuram District.
Many people visit this lake during moonlit nights.
Vellayani Lake attracts large number of tourists during Onam, when
the boat race is held in the lake. Located about 7 km away from Kovalam,
this lake can be reached by hiring country boats from Kovalam Beach.

Marine Aquarium 
Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, which was established in 1997, is
situated at Vizhinjam, which is an important fishing port in Kerala.
This aquarium showcases the rarest species of invertebrates and
ornamental fish in the world. Managed by the Central Marine Fisheries
Research Institute (CMFRI), this aquarium houses crabs, squirrelfish,
moon wrasse, clownfish and butterfly fish.
Visitors to the aquarium can also see lionfish, giant turtles,
surgeonfish, triggerfish, piranhas and sharks.

Vizhinjam Fishing
Harbor 
Vizhinjam Beach was originally a commercial centre for the
Europeans, Portuguese and the Dutch, who used to trade with the native
kings. This beach is situated 4.7 km away from Kovalam, in the coastal
town of Vizhinjam. Vizhinjam Beach serves as a major sea port area. The
area around the beach is dotted with several Ayurvedic treatment
centres, where Ayurvedic massages and treatments are available.

Valiyathura Pier 
This 214-m space long pier at Vallakkadavu offers magnificent views of
the coast. However, because it is constantly pounded by the sea, the
pier today has been reduced to a mere shadow of its busy former self.
Fishermen fling their catamarans into the sea, jump in after that, and
swim to the boats. Crowds gather just to watch this impromptu show.

Chowara
This fishing hamlet near to Kovalam has many
picturesque spots. The Chowara Ayyappa Temple atop a hill overlooks the
beach and offers an amazing view of the beach below. Chowara is also
home to the ancient Analothbhava Matha Church. The Azhimalathara Beach
here is identified as the only place where the sea recedes from the
coast and does not eat into the beach during the monsoon.
